Equipment Shed Project 2004  

Over the years Thornydale Little League has lost lots of equipment to packrats and water damage in the old wood equipment shed between the batting cages.  This year Thornydale Little League has decided to replace the old equipment shed with a new masonry building.

Architectural Plans: Donated by Albert Calderon

County Building Permit: Paid by TLL, $389.00

Clear road for concrete trucks west of batting cages
Done March 21, 2004 by Tucson Excavation.  Cost $40 for gas

Move league equipment from shed to Mini-Mobile storage units
(Done April 3, 2004 by Florayne Santos and son with help from Albert Calderon)

Demolition: Tear down existing storage shed and load into dumpster
(Done April 3, 2004 by Keith Pullen, Steve Bertoncin, Steve Youngquist, Rick Alfonso, Ricky Alfonso, Rick Alfonso's Dad, and Albert Calderon.)

Roll off dumpster: to haul off old shed after demolition
Roll off dumpster donated by Pima Waste of Tucson March 30, 2004

Set forms: for storeroom; dig footings for storeroom; need forms and stakes, 20 lengths of rebar, several volunteers (Done April 10th, 2004)
set forms for batting cage slabs

Plumbing: for hose bibs in batting cages. 100 ft 1 PVC pipe and fittings for hose bibs (fittings donated by Irrigation Sprinkler Supply)

Termite treatment:
Steve at Tucson Exterminating donated the termite treatment, 579-1525 (Done April 16th, 2004)

Concrete finishing:
(need 50 yards concrete, several concrete finishers)
Tucson Ready Mix and Portland Cement gave us a 66% discount on the concrete. Diversified Construction and Concrete Done with Love helped with the finishing.

(Need steel door frames and doors, 3 - 36 and 1 6ft double door)

Electrical rough-in:
(need electrical conduit and boxes, electrician to rough-in conduit in masonry)

(need 2400 block, sand, mortar, rebar, steel lintels,  several masons and mason laborers)

Framing: (Grant Rd. Lumber is donating the 2x12 rafters)
(need plywood and lumber, several framers and helpers)

Roofing: 450 sq.ft.
(need roofer to apply hot mop built-up roofing)

(need roof and wall insulation and installation)

(need drywall and drywall hangers to hang ceiling)
Valenzuela Drywall has volunteered to provide and install the Drywall.

(need paint and sprayer to paint interior ceiling and doors)
Sunbelt Coatings has volunteered to provide the paint and painting.

Electrical finish:
(need wire, lights, etc.) (need electrician to wire the shed)

Any cash donations will also be accepted

And, if you'd like to come out after work for an evening or spend a few hours on a weekend, come get your hands dirty and have some fun helping our league.
